When Green Day brought their Saviors Tour to Oracle Park in San Francisco on September 20, frontman Billie Joe Armstrong was clearly in a feisty mood. Armstrong is an Oakland native, and he was irate about the city’s baseball team announcing their move from Oakland to Las Vegas. During the show, Armstrong vented his anger at A’s owner John Fisher and his decision to move the team.“We don’t take sh*t from people like f**king John Fisher… I hate Las Vegas,” Armstrong said, before calling it “the worst shithole in America.”

In retaliation for those inflammatory remarks, two local radio stations in Las Vegas stood proud with their city while publicly condemning Armstrong and Green Day. KOMP 92.3 in Vegas declared, “No more Green Day,” in an Instagram post. The station disclosed that they had “pulled any and all Green Day” from its playlist, writing “It’s not us, Billie…it’s you,” in their caption along with the hashtag #vegas4ever. (Variety)
